Prime Brokerage Race Intensifies as New Entrants Circle
Two more traditional finance firms confirmed plans to launch digital asset prime services targeting institutional counterparties.

The market for digital asset prime brokerage services continues to intensify, with two additional traditional finance firms confirming plans to launch offerings that target institutional counterparties. Existing providers including Hidden Road, FalconX, Fidelity Digital Assets and Coinbase Prime remain the largest by volume.
The new entrants are marketing integrated custody, financing, execution and clearing across spot and derivatives markets, with a particular focus on portfolio margining across venues. Several are structuring their operations to combine licensed broker-dealer subsidiaries with offshore trading affiliates.
Industry surveys suggest that hedge funds and asset managers continue to view counterparty risk management as the single largest operational obstacle to increasing digital asset allocations.
