Sky Ecosystem Consolidates Products a Year After Maker Rebrand
The former MakerDAO has continued rolling out its Endgame plan under the Sky brand.
The Sky ecosystem, which succeeded MakerDAO as part of the Endgame roadmap laid out by founder Rune Christensen, has continued to consolidate its product suite. USDS has become the primary Sky-issued stablecoin, with DAI still available and freely convertible.
The migration has been staged over several months, with token holders able to swap MKR for the new SKY governance token at a fixed ratio. New subDAOs, referred to as Stars in Sky terminology, continue to be scoped for specialised functions.
Analysts remain divided on whether the rebrand and restructuring will succeed in accelerating growth, or whether it primarily represents an internal reorganisation of one of DeFi's oldest projects.
