Helium Marks Third Anniversary of Solana Migration

Helium has marked the third anniversary of its migration from a bespoke layer-1 to Solana. The move, which took effect in 2023, consolidated the project's token supply and freed engineering resources for its Helium Mobile 5G offering in the United States.

Subscriber counts for the mobile service have grown modestly but consistently, according to filings from parent company Nova Labs. IoT hotspot coverage remains globally distributed, though revenue per device is small.

Helium is often cited as one of the most established examples of the DePIN thesis, alongside Hivemapper, Render and DIMO.
