Firedancer Client Advances Toward Mainnet Debut

Firedancer, the alternative Solana validator client being developed by Jump Crypto, continues its staged rollout. A hybrid version known as Frankendancer, which pairs the new networking stack with the existing runtime, is already running on mainnet on a subset of validators.

The full Firedancer client, written in C and designed for high-performance data processing, remains in testnet. Benchmark figures previously shared by Jump have suggested throughput several times higher than the current Agave client, though real-world performance under adversarial conditions is still being validated.

A second production-grade client is widely viewed as an important milestone for Solana's resilience, given that most validators today rely on descendants of the original Labs client.
