Full Danksharding Research Advances With PeerDAS Testnets

Ethereum researchers reported meaningful progress on the PeerDAS testnets, which underpin the network's long-term move toward full danksharding. PeerDAS lets nodes verify data availability by sampling small pieces of blobs, avoiding the need to download every blob in full.

Devnets have been running with realistic blob loads for several weeks. Client teams are working through edge cases in networking and gossip layers before committing to a hard-fork scope. The work is intended to unlock the higher blob counts that rollups have been requesting.

Full danksharding is expected to be phased in over multiple upgrades rather than shipped as a single change.
